Google Releases Android 2.2, announces GoogleTV, WebM, Web Storage, Webfonts and more...

Does GoogleTV have a chance? We’re not sure it does. Among other things Google also announces the WebM video codec which will compete directly with H.246, and Theora codecs.

Today Google also makes available Google Webfonts, which will again wipe another company off the face of the earth this time it’s TypeKit, while the offering is very different it’s clear what Googles direction is with this move. On a more positive note the system looks pretty sound, there are several fonts available at launch, go give it a try!

With all this talk of new Google products is anyone concerned with the lack of competitive technologies getting their feet wet? Joe also thinks that sloths are cats!
